Marguerite and Brian Faure are raising funds for Christine Revell Children's Home

We are doing a Summit Fest. The heart behind this adventure is to do something different to make a difference.

We are going to try summit as many 1000m peaks in the Western Cape over the Easter weekend.

We have been serving at Christine Revell Children's home since 2012.

Bri has been leading the Bed Time stories initiative and Margs has been teaching the Group C's how to read and write.

The Early Childhood development program aims to address the following:

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

  • They run an ECD programme on their premises for the children that are residential in their
care. They care for 49 children that come from backgrounds of abandonment, abuse and
neglect. 36 of these children attend the ECD programme that they run with three teachers
who work on a theme based discussion topics. There are 3 groups within the ECD setup:
    1) Aged 2-3 years [12 children]
    2) Aged 3-4 years [10-12 children]
    3) Aged 4-6 years [10-12 children]
The children are divided in these groups according to the development irrespective of
their age hence the overlapping in the different groups. It is important that the children
are developed wholistically so that they can focus on their strengths and address their
    areas of development identified.

PLAN
The project plans to meet the stated purpose through the following measurable steps:

  • Focus on enhancing the individual child’s intellectual capacity with varied, challenging
    equipment, resources and programme planning
  • Manage risk factors and developmental problems efficiently and refer if needed

Thank you for helping us as we try raise funds for the ECD project.
