Ali Hoernle is raising funds for CHOC

Swimming has always been a passion of mine. I swam my first Midmar Mile when I was 6 years and I loved it. Since that time I have always wanted to be part of the group who swim all 8 events during the Midmar Mile weekend to raise money for a charity. Next year I have been given the opportunity to participate in the challenge for the first time. This means that I will be swimming 4 miles each day on the 11th and 12th of February 2017. I will be raising money for CHOC - the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa. This charity aims to support children with life-threatening cancer and blood disorders. This is something close to my heart as a very good friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer when we were still at school and she has subsequently had to have her leg amputated. Through this, I have seen a little bit of the strength that it takes to overcome such a disease. I think that CHOC is a fantastic foundation to support children suffering from cancer. Please help me in reaching my goal of R10 000 by donating money on this site, which will then be distributed to CHOC. I hope to help them continue their work in bettering so many children's and their families' lives. Thank you. Ali
