Charity 8 Challenge 2022

Klaus Leschner is raising funds for CHOC

I work as a Paediatrician at Olivedale Clinic in Johannesburg. I see how cancer and serious blood disorders affect the lives of children and their families. The Coronavirus Pandemic has only increased the sense of lockdown or isolation that they feel. Their need for help is greater now than ever before.

Treatment courses are often long and uncomfortable. There may be difficulties for families to be close to a treatment centre, and CHOC helps to provide accommodation and social support. CHOC also steps in where there are shortfalls in providing the correct treatment and equipment. CHOC creates awareness of the early warning signs of childhood cancer. The earlier cancer and blood disorders are detected, the better are the chances of long term survival as well as cure.

I love to swim! To be part of this amazing organization through open water swimming is a great privilege. I can’t wait for 2022, which will be my 11th year at Midmar. It is my plan to raise a total R36000 or R3000 per month. Thank you for supporting CHOC. Klaus
