Sandi Sher is raising funds for CHOC

My 1st Midmar in the 8-Mile Club is dedicated to raising funds for C.H.O.C. & kids facing the challenge of childhood cancer - with more bravery, smiles & trust than I think I may ever have... Even working at a children's hospital for years it never crossed my mind that cancer could happen in ‘my’ family until my nephew was diagnosed with a Wilms' Tumour. The shock and disbelief is difficult to describe, but from experience I knew that sick kids recover and go on to achieve their dreams. 'Buddy' this is for you – brave, feisty, funny and -most importantly - healthy! (Even though you make me jump of the high diving-board and pick up spiders… ugh) So this is why your support would be hugely appreciated. Simply by swimming (which I love anyway!) WE can make a difference, create awareness & hope for those at a time when they need it most. Donations to C.H.O.C. go to many projects, but what stands out for me is that they support parents, families & caregivers too. Childhood Cancer doesn’t just happen to kids, it happens to families, and the happier and healthier the family…. the better the prognosis for the patient.
