I am Deandre Pieterse, I will be swimming my first 8 Mile Charity Challenge in February 2023. In 2017, I had 9 Brain operations due to a bacterial infection that caused abscesses that required drainage every second day for 2 weeks. I was fighting for my life at one stage, but I pulled through by the Grace of God. I am blessed with good health and no neurological problems. I am swimming for CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation SA) because I, understand being hospitalized for a number of days(150 to be exact) and not feeling good and had to have a "normal" life, where some days it just feels impossible. Please help me raise funds for children with cancer.
