Swimming this with a two times breast cancer survivor who I can proudly call my Mom, has huge meaning to the both of us. The PinkDrive gives other mothers and daughters, as well as fathers and sons the chance to continue their lives together through early detection of breast cancer and education. We live in a day and age where we can avoid many unnecessary losses, and the PinkDrive strives to do just that for all.

I have swum the 8 Mile charity swim 7 times, raising over R70 000 in total for charity through generous donation of friends. In 2020 I swam the 8 Miles at 19 weeks pregnant and this year I will be doing the same at 20 weeks pregnant with my second child (or at least try my best to complete it). I look forward to the time when my children can swim with their mom and grandmother and do the same to create awareness and raise funds for these charities.
