GLOBAL INITIATIVE -Water Safety and Learn to Swim Campaign

I am pleased to share with you a brief summary of our VISION AND MISSION.

- To drive and establish an ongoing Global Awareness Campaign that promotes water safety and the importance of swimming as a life skill.

- The need to make swimming lessons more easily accessible to all.

- Raising the standard of “Learn-to-Swim” instruction, by means of ongoing “Teach the Teacher/ Coach”initiatives.

- Encouraging children to take up swimming as a preferred sport. 

- The urgent need to reduce drowning and to ultimately save lives.

- In association with Friends Of Swimmers Trust, help identify talented swimmers from disadvantaged families, (irrespective of race) and assist them with high performance training; the ultimate goal of representing their country and competing on the international stage.

50th aQuellé MIDMAR MILE 

The Frankie And Friends (LLC) launch at the 50th anniversary of the Midmar Mile will be headed up by one of the most respected names in swimming, Doug Ingram, former US Olympic Swimming Coach and former member of the USA Olympic Committee. Doug currently sits in the Paris 2024 Olympic Committee.

Doug’s passion is Water Safety and Learn To Swim.

Doug’s other passion is mountaineering and at the age of 64, blind in one eye, Doug summited Mount Everest! 

SPONSORSHIP

As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations and the Frankie And Friends LLC launch of its campaign, a team of 10 swimmers will each swim 8 miles to raise awareness of water safety and the importance of swimming as a life skill. 

Our goal is to secure a sponsorship for R100 000. This sponsorship will go a long way in achieving our mission
