I did my first Midmar Mile at the age of 9 in 2001 and I took part every year after that up until I was in Matric in 2010. When the 8 Mile challenge was added to the Midmar weekend I had the dream of taking part one day and doing my bit to raise funds for a specific charity. 2024 will be the year I finally make that dream come true.
I will be swimming for the Ezemvelo - Save the Rhino Fund. Wildlife has always held a very special place in my heart and I am honored to be raising funds for this very important cause.
A 20% portion of all funds raised for the charities between all the 8 Mile swimmers will also be distributed equally between 12 other charities which include: Little Eden, Pietermaritzburg SPCA, Pevensey Place, SA Legion, Umngeni SPCA, SA Guide Dogs, Society for the Blind & Deaf, Thandanani, iThemba Lethu, KZN Cystic Fibrosis, Gateway Christian School and Village Safe Haven.
