I am a 14 year old swimmer who enjoys competing in various water sports events from Surf Swimming to Open Water events. I have not yet had the opportunity to swim the Midmar Mile and am extremely delighted and privileged to have this opportunity. There is an average of 1477 fatal drownings each year. Frankie and Friends is an awareness campaign working toward emphasising the urgent need for swimming as a life skill through making swimming lessons conveniently attainable worldwide. I, along with a team of swimmers will swim 8 miles over 2 days with the purpose of promoting safety in the water through Frankie and Friends. In order to be entitled to swim in this 8 mile function it is necessary that I raise a total of R10 000. A donation of any amount toward this impactful initiative wouldbe immensely appreciated.
