Midmar 2017

Sandra Lehmann is raising funds for PinkDrive

As you all know – I am in (cold) Germany this year and hence will unfortunately not be able to swim the Midmar 8 Mile charity swim this year. My mom however is still doing it and I was wanting to help her and her friend raise as much money as possible for the Pink Drive charity again. PinkDrive is South Africa´s best-loved Breast Cancer Community Carer. They are a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) powering South Africa´s first mobile PinkDrive Mammography Unit and PinkDrive Educational Unit through our country and help save lives by this through early detection. For those of you that don’t know what the 8 Mile club is about, here is a short explanation. This group of 50 swimmers who will swim every single event at the Midmar Mile (in total 8 events = 8 miles = approx. 13km) in order to raise money for various charities (e.g. Cancer Association, Little Eden, SA Guide Dogs, Society for the Deaf, Village Safe Haven, and many more). Each swimmer has to raise a minimum of R10 000 for their charity. My mother and I have been accepted as one of the swimmers for the Midmar Mile for the last two years and it has been really great. We would appreciate any contribution to this charity and value your continued support!
