My open water swimming journey started in 2013 when I participated in my first ever Midmar Mile, the year I turned 40. I have crossed the dam every year since then. In 2017 I started swimming the event for Charity and in 2023, the year I turned 50, I completed my first Midmar 8-Miler for Pink Drive.
....2024 was my 2nd 8-Miler and, yes, you guessed it, in 2025 (my 12th year) I will be taking to the waters again to swim for everyone who has had to face Cancer. This charity is so close to my heart because I have lost family and friends to breast cancer, one of whom passed away just 1 month after I completed the event in 2024. And the second family member passed away in August 2024
I will continue to honor Bev's and Brigitte's memory. And I will continue to swim for the brave humans who face the beast every day.
