My name is Mike Emanuel and for a long time I have been searching for a way to make a difference in someone's life. On a personal level I have had to overcome a number of obstacles in my life. I have been an above knee amputee from the age of 28 and I survived a massive heart attack when I was forty and ended up having a triple bypass and then 7 years later had a double bypass. The blessing in all of this is that I am now 58 years old and have been lucky enough to still be here, living life to the fullest and tell my story. 

I feel a degree of responsibility to hopefully give a CHILD a chance in life.  Your generosity and donations can assist in funding a child suffering from cancer. I am the father of two incredible children who have brought endless joy to my life and if my little contribution can help another family with assisting their child through the toughest of tough times and give them more precious time together, I am all in and hopefully so are you. 

No CHILD deserves to end up with this dreaded disease, so I reach out to you and ask you to put your hands in your pockets and open your wallets and bless someone's child suffering from cancer today!!!!!  

I was unfortunate to lose a great friend of mine Mark Howard to a brain tumor a few years ago. Mark was my swimming buddy and if I am honest, he is with me whenever I tackle an open water swim of any kind.  

The name of the charity, HAPPY BUNDLES, says it all! 

This 8-mile swimming challenge is something I would never have considered 5 months ago as I was totally out of shape and hadn't swum 100 meters in the last four years let alone 8 miles. I guess what I am trying to say is that I am 100% committed to making this happen and with your backing it will definitely make the effort well worthwhile.  

So come on friends, we are blessed every morning when we open our eye's and prepare to tackle a new day, so let's pay back a little and bless a CHILD TODAY.
