I'm thrilled and honoured to swim 8 miles in the Midmar Mile once again to help raise awareness and funds for CHOC. The 2025 event will be my fourth swim in the Charity 8 challenge, but my first as a mother.
Parenthood changes you; it changes your perspective on what truly matters. Loving a child is intense, thrilling, exhausting, exciting, and a privilege I don't take for granted. As the mother of a healthy boy, I can't begin to imagine the intense stress of facing childhood cancer. Raising a child is challenging enough when they're healthy, and having a loving, strong support system is essential not only for your child's future but also for your own journey as a parent.
That’s why I feel compelled to take on this challenge again. As parents, it's our duty to help build each other’s villages. I feel privileged to contribute, even in a small way, to strengthening CHOC’s support network.
