Midmar 2018

Andrew Matthews is raising funds for Duzi Umngeni Conservation Trust

I can comfortably say I have swam many more miles than I have ever run. I have been taking part in the Midmar Mile annually since 1998, it is a fixture in my annual planning.

From 2004 I was amazed by those who took part in the 8 Mile and for the past two years I have had the opportunity to complete the 8 Mile representing the South African National Defence Force (2016 &2017) and Pink Drive (2017). These were awesome experiences of achieving a goal that was right in front of me for many years.

Now there is a new goal post, the Midmar 16 Mile... I remember Terence Parkin taking this on for the first time a few years ago and then seeing it become an official challenge in 2016. I have been in awe of these swimmers.

2018 is my chance to take on the 16 Mile challenge and it is in support of the DUCT charity. Visit their website to read more and see some of their valuable work.

My goal is to raise a minimum of R20 000 towards DUCT and I need your help in achieving this. Please support by donating any amount... all monies are gratefully received.

Thank you!
