Yes it is that time of year again... I can't believe it either😳 The year has flown by. I will be swimming 8 miles for SINGAKWENZA again in February 2020.
Being a teacher, SINGAKWENZA has always had a special place in my heart and always will. They are changing lives daily! For those of you who aren't aware of SINGAKWENZA you can take a look at their website www.singakwenza.co.za
Singakwenza runs two very awesome programmes:
1. Waste2Toys Workshops - they take household rubbish that we throw away in our houses daily and make toys as well as teaching materials using these. These toys help kids fine motor skills, gross motor skills and hand eye co-ordination and much more. So if you based in KZN drop your clean recycling with them. A simple example is they make skipping ropes using bread bags which last a lot longer than bought skipping ropes. Puzzles using pictures and cardboard. Super cool hey??? You too can do this at home with your kids. Saving rubbish going to the dump as well as teaching kids at the same time.
2. Mentorship programme - Singakwenza have ladies who go into the creches weekly to guide the teachers in the schools how to use the toys made from recycled materials and teaching material. They continue this for 2 years at the same creche. At the end of this they can leave the teacher to continue these awesome ways she has been taught. How amazing???
My goal is R20000 this year to raise for this phenomenal organization. Please can you help me reach my goal. Any amount goes a long way... I really appreciate your support.
Changing lives one step at a time💙💚💛🧡❤️💜
