Last year raising money for DUCT proved to be quite a challenge. However, meeting the people from DUCT and understanding the incredible work they do; that being to not only keep the Umgeni and Duzi River catchment areas clean, but also to assist and educate the community about the importance of sustaining their own environment, had a profound impact. This work and the recent environmental strain the river has taken has been the catalyst to once again accepting the invitation to join the 2020 aQuella Midmar mile, 16 Mile challenge.
The swim itself is no mean feat; having to swim to the start before joining the actual race eight times; the challenge is not so much simply swimming approximately 26km in eight hours, but rather having to swim back before the next race begins.
Please assist me to reach my target. It’s an incredibly worthy cause at a very difficult financial time for the country. Every small donation will make a difference.
