I am proud and honoured to have been chosen to swim my first 8 Mile for CANSA. This challenge is particularly meaningful to me personally as I will be swimming in memory of my mom, Harriet, who lost her own battle with cancer when I was just 12 years old. Gone way to soon, but never forgotten, she will be my motivation and inspiration to keep going and dig deep, both mentally and physically, when the going gets tough.
One in four people are affected by cancer, so I will also be swimming this challenge for every friend who has experienced the pain of losing someone close to them to cancer or has seen loved ones affected.
Am I up for the challenge? You BET I am!! Will it be easy? NOPE. Will it be worth it? ABSOLUTELY!!
I will continue putting in the hard yards in the pool between now and February, and I would appreciate it if you could in your personal/company/family capacity support my efforts and help me reach my target of raising R10 000 for CANSA by pledging a donation. No amount is too small!
