When I first got the idea of swimming for charity, there were a few options, but non as obvious and close to home as the Midmar 8 Mile. I just makes sense to be part of a KZN race, and a KZN charity.
The 8 Mile involves swimming all 8 races that take place over the Midmar Mile weekend.
If you want to know more about the charity that I'm representing come Midmar Mile 2019, go to:
In a nut-shell, Singawenza is an organization that focuses of the development of children. Like most countries in the world, SA has a problem with waste household packaging, and the effect this waste has on our beautiful country when dumped is saddening. As this waste is massively abundant, it makes sense to recycle it and put it to good use. The result is a whole lot of educational and play toys made out of recycled material eg, bags become skipping ropes, margarine containers to cars, polystyrene trays become puzzles, yogurt containers to shape sorters, etc. you get the idea.
Learn whilst you play, and it's good for the environment.
