Midmar 2019

Jacqui Cameron is raising funds for Singakwenza

aQuellé Midmar Mile 2019 is a big year for me: it is my 5th 8 Mile (in a row) and the 8th event on Sunday will be my 50th swim at the race, having started swimming this awesome event when I was 12 years old. I will be back in the water with the Singakwenza team. It’s been truly amazing swimming with them for the past few years and I’m honoured to be with you all again.

Singakwenza continue to do amazing work all over the country. They run mentorship programmes for crèche teachers in rural areas by guiding them in educating children and building sustainable businesses. They also run ‘Waste to Toys Workshops’ where they teach parents, educators, and community workers how to make educational toys that can be used to teach children a multitude of skills.

This year I’d like to raise R 20 000 for Singakwenza. Any contribution towards this goal, no matter how big or small, will go a long way to helping and improving the lives of the people touched by this wonderful charity (and give me motivation to get through all the swimming).
