In 2019 I will once again be getting into the water of Midmar dam to swim 8 Miles, and give it my all to raise funds for a charity that is close to my heart. For 6 of my previous 7 swims I have raised funds for CHOC, or other cancer related organisations.
As a cancer survivor, I know just how much organisation like this do for not on cancer patients and survivors, but also for their families. Without organisations like this, there would be no support, and in many cases treatment for the people who need it most. Not only during treatment, but after treatment too.
I have personally visited CHOC houses in the area, and can vouch for the amazing work the people do there. From the admin staff, all the way through to the passion of the people working with the children and their families on a daily basis.
If you find it on your heart to donate, please do so, otherwise, please share this page with friends and family, so that they become aware of this much needed fundraising initiative. If you do donate, please also feel free to leave a message of support. Not only for me, but for the other swimmers, or anyone you know who has fought, or is fighting this terrible disease.
Any amount, big or small helps, and this year, I hope to once again go above and beyond the goal you see set below.
